Drunk Science: A virtual Science Happy Hour
Drunk Science Episode One! Dr. Ellen Bluett talks about your anxiety during a global pandemic.
STEAMpunk Academy presents Drunk Science! Where we talk to experts over drinks about what they do. It's like when you are at a bar and your friend won't shut up about something. Except we actually know what we are talking about. In our inaugural episode, we talk to professor and clinical psychologist Dr. Ellen Bluett about how to handle disasters like the Coronavirus pandemic and earthquakes.
Drunk Science with Dr. Amir Allam
Dr. Amir Allam, the most interesting seismologist in the world, will be chatting with us about earthquakes and other scary things.
Drunk Science with Sara Yeo
This weeks Virtual Science Happy Hour is sponsored by the Utah Arts Alliance Online and Odgen's Own Distillery. They are the ones who make Five Wives Vodka and Madam Pattirini Gin.

Save the Birds! Do it in the Dark
Hey night owl! Betcha didn’t know that 250 songbirds migrate at night. And betcha didn’t know light pollution makes it harder for them to navigate. True story. Well, there’s probably a lot you don’t know about light pollution and our avian neighbors. So tune in on Cinco de Mayo and have a drink with Molly Warner, a research intern at the @tracyaviary, had the scoop on how you can help birds by turning out the lights!
Alcohol in Space
This Pie ‘n Beer Day, we took Utah’s pioneer spirit to the great frontier of Mars! Join STEAMpunk Academy as we interview Chris Carberry; the former executive director of The Mars Society and currently the CEO and co-founder of Explore Mars, Inc., a nonprofit advancing the goal of sending humans to Mars within the next two decades. And most importantly, he wrote the book, Alcohol in Space. If we’ve learned anything from quarantine, they’re gonna need it!
We also go on a virtual tour of O.A.S.I.S.C.A.F.E., a replica of the lunar lander by Jeremy Smith. He is setting it up in the Art Garden at the Utah Arts Alliance. We apologize that it starts abruptly. We have some streaming issues getting started.
Drunk Science: A Virtual Science Happy Hour with the Salty Sirens and Dr. Eric Boyd

They are bakers in Cache Valley and they are going to answer all your questions like "How does bread?" and "Why is meat?" Drunk Science with Rob Soto, Scientific Illustrator
Science needs art and art need science! No one understands this more than Rob Soto. (@raptorrobb on instagram) He's a talented scientific illustrator and paleo artist and he's gonna be here on May 12th to tell us all about what it's like working with scientists to make the illustrations that make us care about science. There will be art! There will be Science! But most importantly, THERE WILL BE DINOSAURS!
